SUPPORTING STUDENTS
Learning can take place outside of the classroom, and everyone learns in different ways. Finding the best way to balance school, work, home, and health can be daunting. We get that life is complicated, and we’re here to help.
STUDENT SUPPORT
Meet with a Learning Strategist, an International Transition Advisor, a Campus Chaplain, an Elder-in-Residence at our First Nations House, or a nurse, doctor, or counsellor at Health & Wellness. Connect with our Sexual & Gender Diversity Office, our Community Safety Office, or our Family Care Office.
SEXUAL & GENDER DIVERSITY
U of T’s Sexual & Gender Diversity Office (SGDO) is the oldest of its kind (20+ years) at any postsecondary institution in Canada. The SGDO provides advocacy, support, and resources for 2SLGBTQ+ students, promoting an inclusive campus environment. Our annual Queer Orientation is a huge draw for many students, and U of T’s Health & Wellness clinics have a Trans Healthcare Team whose services are open to students from all three campuses.
ACCESS & INCLUSION
We actively work to dismantle barriers that hold anyone back from their full potential. Our equity offices work to build community at U of T and guide students through any concerns during their experiences on and off campus. They offer safe avenues for confidential care and inclusivity.
HART HOUSE
Hart House is a centre for experiential education outside the classroom, where students from all three of our campuses find welcoming and unique ways to connect with each other and the broader world through engagement with the arts, dialogue, and wellness. From peer groups for study and social justice-based community talks to art exhibitions, theatre workshops, and classes to strengthen the body and spirit, Hart House offers something for everyone, something for you.
