APPLY NOW

Get ready to apply by choosing your program — or programs — and making sure you meet our admission requirements for your intended program(s) of study. In addition to meeting general university admission requirements, you may need to present specific subject prerequisites, and submit a personal profile or statement of interest. Application deadlines vary by program area.

STEP 1

Complete the online application. It will only take you about fifteen minutes to fill out. You won’t need to submit any transcripts or supplementary information at this point.

STEP 2

After you submit the online application, keep a close eye on your inbox for an acknowledgement email explaining how to activate your personal applicant portal.

STEP 3

Once you’re in your applicant portal, you’ll see all of your next steps—including a list of required documents or transcripts we’ll need from you, plus prompts for any additional info.

  • The University of Toronto does not discriminate between courses taken in a day school and those taken in summer school, night school, or accredited online programs—all of these are considered equivalent so long as they are taken through a school that is formally approved by your province’s Ministry of Education. Any courses required for admission or graduation must be completed by June of your grade 12 year.

Students applying to the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering may be asked to provide reasoning for taking a course outside of their normal day school if the course is available in their day school.

  • Canadian citizens, landed immigrants, and permanent residents are eligible to pay domestic tuition (Ontario resident or non-Ontario resident) fees regardless of where they happen to be living when they apply to U of T. However, be aware that admission consideration is always based on the regional high school curriculum that you’re completing.

  • Each of our academic divisions varies substantially in both size and application volumes, and so we don’t have a defined acceptance rate. In addition, some specialized programs attract more interest and are consequently more competitive, and these programs admit fewer students due to space limitations.
